coordinated activities by foreign powers, including the use of misleading or inaccurate information, to influence political and public decision-making, public opinion, or opinions in another country, which may affect the sovereignty, the goals for the security or other interests negatively of our country. Information influence techniques include: Social (Cognitive) Hacking, Deceptive Identities, Technical Exploitation, Disinformation, Malign Rhetoric, Symbolic Actions. There is no one-size-fits-all response to information influence activities. There are four categories of response (assess, inform, advocate and defend), that each consist of several specific communicative techniques.
