a phenomenon that is used in Cognitive Hacking. People who feel like part of the majority are more likely to air their opinions. For example, bots can be used to boost the initial number of likes, comments and shares of a social media entry to facilitate further engagement from “real” users. This gives the impression of social acceptance, which appeals to the need for social conformity (by contrast of Spiral of Silence effect).
